This was a highly requested location, and a number of comments came my way from my Velaris painting that I should include Ramiel. After a….very intense deep re-read of the series, I realized that the territory is large, and the mountains are not within viewing range of Velaris. So, it deserved its own unique painting.

I pulled inspiration from so many things to make this painting. Mount Rainier is visible from my neighborhood on clear days, and even after 7 years, I am consistently overwhelmed by its size and how the atmosphere around it bends to its scale. Watching Rainier at sunsets influenced the complimentary color palette of deep violet and gold. I also had so much fun incorporating some of Golden’s Interference paint - it shimmers in the light, bringing the piece a little magic.
